The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) posted a special heartwarming video of the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy as Team India is all set to return home after their successful triumph. 

India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final on Saturday, June 29, at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. Following their win, Rohit Sharma &. Co was struck in the island nation due to the airport shutdown caused by Hurricane 'Beryl'. 

However, after three days, the team is set to return home on a chartered flight and is expected to land in Delhi early morning on Thursday, July 4.

BCCI Posted 'Special Video' Ahead Of Team India's Return 

Ahead of their departure, the BCCI posted a video of the World Cup Trophy. On Wednesday morning, they posted a short video on social media (Twitter), with an interesting caption that stated that the World Cup trophy ‘Is Coming Home’. 

The Indian Team is also expected to meet the Prime Minister of India-Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Earlier he also congratulated Team India through a phone call and appreciated players for their commendable performance.  

After winning the T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian team became the third team to win the coveted title after West Indies and England. 

In 2007, India won the inaugural edition of the tournament under the astute leadership of MS Dhoni. After that, it took 17 years for the team to win their second title.
