History was made at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou as the Indian men's cricket team marked its Asian Games debut with a gold medal.

A persistent downpour during their final clash against Afghanistan on Saturday ensured the match couldn’t see its logical end. Afghanistan, holding the reins at 112/5 after 18.2 overs, had their momentum thwarted by the rain.

The competition rules, however, smiled upon India. Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, the team was crowned champions based on their superior standing throughout the tournament. This win was not just proof of their consistency in the competition but also an epitome of the hard work and dedication that each player brought to the field.

The joy of the victory resonated deeply within the team. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi offered a glimpse into these unbridled celebrations through an Instagram post. The video, bound to become viral, featured Bishnoi, pace sensation Arshdeep Singh, and Avesh Khan.

Together, they belted out “Lehra Do” from the Bollywood blockbuster '83', their gold medals glistening, mirroring the pride in their eyes. The caption "Unfiltered Emotions" succinctly captured the essence of their celebration.

Notably, the Indian women's cricket team had already set a benchmark earlier in the tournament by defeating Sri Lanka and bagging a gold medal for the country.

India's performance at the Hangzhou Asian Games has been nothing short of spectacular. The nation wrapped up its campaign with a record tally of 107 medals.

This haul, comprised of 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals, has not only proved India’s prominence in the Asian sporting community but also instilled a sense of immense pride and optimism among its fans.
