Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra channeled his energetic self during a pre-match interactive session alongside his colleagues at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Prior to Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2024 match against the visiting Punjab Kings, several players from the home team were asked to name their favourite Punjabi songs. In light of the festive spirit surrounding the much-awaited IPL 2024 clash, coach Ashish Nehra also indulged himself in the activity as he picked his choice while interrupting his Gujarat Titans colleagues.

Ashish Nehra names favourite Punjabi song

Former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra was among the many members from the Gujarat Titans camp asked to name their favorite Punjabi songs prior to team’s IPL 2024 home match against Punjab Kings.

As the cricketer-turned-coach contemplated his musical choices, he overheard a teammate’s suggestion of the song “Dil le gayi kudi Gujarat di”. The Titans head coach jokingly responded that just because he is married to a Gujarati does not means he likes the song. He said:

“Dil le gayi kudi Gujarat di? No no, just because my wife is Gujarati doesn’t mean I like this song. We’re married but we’re very different from each other.”

Ashish Nehra eventually named late Sidhu Moose Wala’s hit 2021 chartbuster ‘295’ as his favorite Punjabi song. The 45-year-old hilariously amplified the significance of the track, and constantly interrupted his colleagues in a cheerful manner. He said:

“‘295’ By Sidhu Moose Wala. ‘295’, don’t forget the name of the song. It’s the best Punjabi song. I’m learning Punjabi bit by bit.”

Under the leadership of Shubman Gill and coach Ashish Nehra, the Gujarat Titans franchise has so far secured two wins out of three matches this IPL 2024 season.

Currently placed at number five on the IPL 2024 points table, the Titans will now face Punjab Kings in match 17 of the tournament. The much-awaited contest will be staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 4.
