In a remarkable achievement, Royal Challengers Bengaluru qualified for the IPL 2024 playoffs, defeating the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling match on Saturday night. 

Following CSK's defeat in the must-win game, former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu was heartbroken as he expressed his emotions while doing commentary for the broadcasters. 

Chasing a whopping 219-run target, the Super Kings finished on 191 for seven, missing out on the playoffs by only nine runs. Yash Dayal emerged as the hero for RCB, defending 17 runs successfully against the rampant finishing duo of Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni. 

As soon as Jadeja missed the final ball, Rayudu got emotional in the commentary box. The Hyderabad batter, who played a pivotal role in CSK's triumphant campaigns in 2018, 2021 and 2023, couldn't digest his favourite team's loss as he gave an animated shocking reaction. He was in disbelief for a moment as the video eventually went viral on social media. 

Led by young Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Super Kings were marred by the absence of some of their key players, particularly Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman, who showcased their bowling prowess earlier in the tournament. 

Meanwhile, RCB finished fourth on the IPL 2024 points table and will feature in the eliminator clash up against the third-placed team.
