In a heartwarming instance of sportsmanship, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) finisher Rinku Singh heaped praises on Yash Dayal after the pacer led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to playoffs by defending 17 runs in the final over against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday.

In a mega IPL 2024 virtual knockout game, RCB beat CSK by 27 runs to qualify for the playoff stage, thus converting the 1% odds by winning 6 games on the trot.

And the hero of the magical game was none other than Yash Dayal, who defended 17 runs off the final over by dismissing MS Dhoni right after the veteran hit him for a 110-metre six on the first delivery.

Indeed, life came full circle for Yash Dayal who last year got hit for 5 sixes by Rinku Singh to give away an improbable win. And now, a year later, he led RCB to the playoffs whilst the team's odds of qualification were down to just 1%.

That being said, Rinku Singh, who nearly destroyed Yash Dayal's career last year, took this opportunity to show sportsmanship towards his colleague and indirectly congratulated him for the turnaround.

Rinku posted a story on his Instagram handle to post Dayal's picture and captioned it saying all of this was God's plan.

Yash Dayal was benched by GT following Rinku's onslaught. However, RCB showed faith in the youngster and bought him for 5 crores in the mini auction last year.

And despite the traumas making a flashback on the first delivery of the final over, Yash Dayal kept his calm with his back against the wall and delivered an exemplary performance to produce the unthinkable for his side.
