The ongoing tour game between touring Pakistan and Prime Minister's XI witnessed a rare sight on Day 2 of the match on Thursday during the end of play. Newly appointed skipper Shan Masood called upon former captain Babar Azam to bowl off-spin against well-set Cameron Green and Matt Renshaw.

Azam's arrival was met with a huge cheer from the crowds present at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, which shows how much the fans love the cricketer despite having stepped down as Pakistan captain following a terrible ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

In the one over that Azam bowled, he extracted a turn from the pitch, which even forced keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed to cheer on for his teammate.

Azam has been recently seen practicing his bowling skills in the net ahead of the first Test against hosts Australia and has been seem to have impressed a few onlookers as well.

With the bat, however, Azam could not make it count big against PM XI, departing for a well-made 40 off 88, which included five fours.

Azam, who has seven First-Class wickets, picked his maiden red-ball wicket in his first international over itself, getting Medidy Hasan leg-before for 14 second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh in December 2021.

Meanwhile, at stumps on Day 3 of the warm up match, the PM's XI trailed by 24 runs.
