The 2011 World Cup win was the sweetest thing for any Indian cricket fan since the turn of the 21st Century, but what made it more memorable was the atmosphere that was electric like anything as more than 40,000 people chanted Vande Mataram simultaneously. Similarly, during the clash between India and Australia in the World Cup 2023, the knowledgeable Chennai crowd started singing in chorus, which took everyone 12 years back.

The song, which joins a billion hearts, brought a nostalgic moment for all the Indian fans, which even former skipper MS Dhoni previously recalled as the finest moment of his career, mainly because it brought him goosebumps at that stage in 2011.

Indian fans are known to be the most passionate fanbase in the world, spread across the oceans, supporting the Men in Blue everywhere they go. Even in the current World Cup, fans had queued up to pocket the tickets for India games, which proved to be an uphill task.

Regarding the game, India were chasing 200 when they lost three wickets early, but a magnificent 165-run partnership between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul took the game away from the Aussies. Ravindra Jadeja accounted for three wickets, with the ball triggering the opposition's collapse as they were bowled out for 199.

After this game, India will go on to play against Afghanistan in Delhi on 11th October, whereas Australia's second opponent is going to be South Africa, whom they face in Lucknow on 12th October.
