With few hours left for the massive India vs Australia World Cup 2023 clash in Chennai, major news is coming from the Aussie camp where leg-spinner Adam Zampa has suffered an injury in the swimming pool. The report was confirmed by skipper Pat Cummins, who has also provided an update on the spinner's chances to feature in the all-important game.

Speaking in media, Cummins revealed what went behind the scenes in Chennai, where he jokingly explained that Zampa, while swimming in the pool, crashed with the steps mainly because he didn't realise it was in his line. Also, mentioning that he is just a bit sore, which is nothing to worry about.

“He swam into the pool wall apparently. He had his eyes closed and thought he was swimming in a straight line and swam straight into the step of the pool. He’s all good, just a little bit sore, so had a pretty quiet week too.”

It all became questionable when Zampa appeared in the nets with a cut on his nose, which caused many to wonder what actually transpired. However, now, with all doubts cleared, Australian fans would be breathing a little easily as they have to deal with one less of an injury concern.

Previously, Marcus Stoinis was reported to be unfit for the game against India after he pulled up his hamstring, for which skipper Cummins has asked to wait and watch.

On the other hand, India will be preparing for the game, which is set to be played on 8th October at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, where spin will be a massive factor.
