KL Rahul's class is second to none and whenever he gets going, he is an absolute treat to watch. In India's opening game against Australia, KL Rahul again showed why he is rated so highly, as he displayed immense skills and character to take India out of a hopeless situation with Australia all over India.
The home team lost three wickets with just two runs on the board, but KL Rahul along with Virat Kohli displayed nerves of steel and notched up a stand of 165, that more or less sealed the deal for India in their run-chase of 200.
Virat Kohli departed on 85 but KL Rahul batted till the end and even hit a winning six to finish off the things in style, but the anti-climax was that the six he hit, left him three short of his much-deserved century.
Actually, India needed five runs to win with KL Rahul batting on 91 and the only way he would have got to his century was if he hit a four and then a six to seal the game. However, he ended up hitting a six first instead of a four which spoiled the party for the stylish right-hander.

Talking about his winning shot, it was a length delivery, around off from Australian skipper Pat Cummins. KL Rahul picked the length quickly and played a glorious lofted cover drive that sailed over deep extra cover for a maximum. KL Rahul immediately went down on his knees as he saw the ball travelling over the fence as it denied him of a much-deserved century.
Nevertheless, India have notched up a clinical win by six wickets in their opening game and will now face Afghanistan on 11th of October at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in national capital of India, Delhi.
