Ben Stokes, the England Test captain suffered a knee injury during The Hundred clash and is now doubtful for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.

Playing for the Northern Superchargers, Stokes played just 4 deliveries, before he was taken off the field by the team doctors. The England captain hobbled and found it difficult to walk back as the ECB sweat hard with just 10 days remaining for the start of the first Test match.

While walking back, Stokes looked devastated, which tells about the extensive nature of his injury. The left-handed batter has had a history of knee injuries, and he also got a knee operation earlier this year. His tenure with the Superchargers certainly looks over, and now doubts cast over his participation against Sri Lanka as well.

The injury occurred when he ran for a quick single and picked up the injury, which looks serious. He laid on the ground and threw his gloves away as he looked in agonising pain.

He ended the night on crutches and is being assessed by medical staff. "It doesn't look great, unfortunately," said Harry Brook, the Superchargers' captain and Stokes' England team-mate.

Talking about the match Superchargers needed 153 to seal the win, and inspired performance from skipper Harry Brook and Nicholas Pooran led the victory charge.
