On December 8, roughly a week after undergoing a successful surgery on his knee, he took to his Instagram stories and shared a picture of his bruised knee. In the caption, the all-round maverick wrote:

“Bruising will always make its way down yeah? I’m fine btw it’s normal.”

On November 29, Ben Stokes also shared a snapshot of himself on crutches on X (formerly Twitter) to confirm his successful surgery.

Knee issues have been persistently troubling Ben Stokes, considering the English all-rounder has not been able to ply his bowling trade in the last few months across all formats of the game.

The cricketer also turned up for England at the 2023 World Cup in India purely as a batsman, where he bludgeoned fighting knocks against Sri Lanka and Australia and match-winning specials against Netherlands and Pakistan.

Late last month, he was released by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise for next year's Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

As of now, the 32-year-old is bracing himself to attain full recovery in time for England's much-awaited Test series against India early next year.

Under his leadership, the England team is slated to face hosts India in a five-match Test series between January and March, where the fixtures will also be constituting a part of the ongoing 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
