Pakistan batting veteran Babar Azam was recently spotted sharing a heartwarming moment with Pakistan’s deaf captain Zaka Ahmed. The two cricketers caught up at a training camp where they interacted via sign language in a seemingly candid conversation.

Babar Azam chats with deaf team captain

Pakistan legend Babar Azam resigned from captaincy in all formats following his side’s disastrous World Cup 2023 run in India. Upon returning to Pakistan earlier this month, the batting maverick coped much criticism from all corners of the cricketing spectrum before the PCB enforced some drastic changes within the team management.

At the day of the World Cup 2023 final, Babar was spotted playing golf to make the most of his free time away from the cricket field. As he braces himself for Pakistan’s upcoming three-match Test tour of Australia, the 29-year-old reached a training camp where he caught up with ‘Men in Green’ deaf team skipper Zaka Ahmed.

The two cricketers shared a seemingly hilarious conversation with each other via sign language. Their short interaction instantly went viral across social media, prompting several fans of Babar Azam to express their admiration for the cricketer’s humble personality.

Babar Azam will soon be taking flight to Australia for their upcoming three-match Test series in December. The first of the three matches will commence on December 14 at the Perth Stadium.

The series marks Pakistan’s first set of international fixtures since the conclusion of the 2023 World Cup, and also the first since Babar Azam gave up captaincy from all formats. Test zealot Shan Masood will be leading the side instead, considering he was assigned the red-ball leadership role by the PCB last week.
