Match 13 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 witnessed Trinbago Knight Riders thrash Barbados Royals by 133 runs, inflicting the latter franchise their heaviest defeat ever in terms of runs in the competition. 

For Riders, Martin Guptill scored an unbeaten 100 off 58 balls, and captain Kieron Pollard scored a cameo of 46 runs, helping the side set a mammoth 195-run target for the Royals. 

All-rounder Andre Russell ensured the Barbados side never lifted off, grabbing three wickets, which included two wickets in his first over.

Opening the bowling, Russell snared Rahkeem Cornwall's wicket on the first-ball, to bring up his 400th T20 scalp in the format as well.

Thus, Russell became only the first player to score 7,500 + T20 runs and clinch 400+ wickets.

Overall, he is third after Dwayne Bravo and Shakib Al Hasan to pick 400 wickets and score 6,000+ runs in T20s.

Russell went on to pick his 401st T20 wicket in the form of Kyle Mayers, who fell for a first-ball duck in the first over itself. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player returned in the third over and picked up Alick Athanaze's wicket for 2.

The all-rounder is the leading wicket-taker for TKR in CPL 2023 with five.  In 454 T20s, the 35-year-old has claimed 402 wickets and amassed 7,587 runs with two centuries and 28 fifties.
