After a strenuous six-day preparatory camp in Bangalore, the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023 landed in Sri Lanka on Wednesday, ahead of the opening Group A tie against Pakistan on September 2.

Players like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Tilak Varma posted selfies and photos on Instagram before departure, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also posted a short travelog of the Indian team's journey.

In a new clip, skipper Sharma alongside all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja could be seen snacking and engaging in fun sitting in the team bus while awaiting their departure to the hotel.  The viral clip shared on 'X', upon noticing the camera, Sharma could be seen acknowledging the fan and also pointing towards his next destination.

Placed in Group A along with Pakistan, and Nepal, India kicks-off its campaign on September 2, before playing their second match on September 4. Both of India's matches will be held in Pallekele. 

India have named a strong 17-member squad, which sees the return of players like Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul. Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna. Interestingly, Rahul has been ruled out both group matches, owning to a niggle.

Wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson is the treavling reserve.
