Former Pakistani keeper-batter Kamran Akmal has made it to the news for the wrong reasons, as a video has been doing rounds on the internet where Akmal can be seen targeting and mocking Indian star Arshdeep Singh with a racial slur on live TV. 

Notably, India registered an emphatic win over Pakistan on June 9 in a low-scoring thriller. The Men in Blue, batting first, put 119 runs on the board. In reply, Pakistan started well and were on the cruise to defeat India in T20 World Cup history for the second time, but they succumbed to the pressure and slowly the match shifted towards India. 

From a point of requiring 63 runs to win off 60 balls with nine wickets in hand, the Men in Green were reduced to chase down 18 runs off the final over. India's rising star Arshdeep Singh was handed the responsibility to bowl the 20th over, which is when Akmal, who was present in a studio in Pakistan made a racial slur which is now being criticised all over the world. 

On a show for ARY News, where Kamran Akmal was present as a guest,  he mocked Arshdeep over his religion and said  ’12 baj gaye hain (It is 12'O Clock)'. Meanwhile, another co-panellist joined in and said, 'No Sikh should be allowed to bowl at noon.' Watch the video here. 

Notably, the remark '12 baj gaye' is used as an insult to mock the Sikh religion and it is highly derogatory for any individual to use such language. Kamran's words have drawn criticism from cricket pundits and several social media accounts. It is to be seen whether the channel will take action on the former Pakistani keeper or he will issue an apology to Singh or not.
