Pakistan’s famed batting line-up crumbled from 155-2 to 191 all out within the space of an hour to concede an easy win to India at the 2023 World Cup in Ahmedabad. Their disastrous collapse drew scores of criticisms from Pakistan’s cricketing fraternity, with several former players and expert commentators lamenting Babar Azam and co. for their batting failure against Indian bowlers.

Indian contingent, on the other hand, had a field day with several ex-cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan poking fun at their arch-rivals on social media. Former opening batsman Wasim Jaffer, who is known for his hilarious takes on India’s cricketing affairs, also trolled Pakistan’s batting collapse by sharing a hysterical meme on X (formerly Twitter).

After Indian bowlers, particularly Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya and spinners folded up Pakistan for just 191 in Ahmedabad, former opener Wasim Jaffer took to X and brutally trolled the latter’s batting collapse at the grand stage.

He shared a hilarious meme, which featured a snippet of Pakistan cricket fan Sarim Akhtar being interviewed by disgraced ICC sports presenter Zainab Abbas.

After Pakistan lost their final eight wickets for just 36 runs to fold up for 191, Indian captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma blasted a scintillating six-laden 86 to extinguish visitors’ last ounce of hope in the second innings.

Shreyas Iyer crafted a special finishing act with his own fifty as Team India romped down their target with more than 19 overs to spare, and in doing so, catapulted themselves to the top of the 2023 World Cup points table.

India’s win also extended their World Cup dominance over their arch-rivals to 8-0.
