Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi caught up with several young cricketers from Pakistan’s domestic circuit after the embarrassing first-round exit of the men’s national team from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Naqvi spoke with the youngsters and issued directives regarding fitness and diet plans during training.
The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to tour New Zealand in a couple of weeks for a series of five T20Is and three ODI matches. As per reports, several senior players will be sidelined for the tour in favor of rising stars.
PCB chairman meets young Pakistan cricketers
Several media reports have indicated that the PCB might select top-performing domestic cricketers for Pakistan’s upcoming white-ball tour of New Zealand at the expense of several senior or regular first-choice players. Such developments occurred after Pakistan’s shocking first-round and winless exit from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
PCB Chairman and under-fire cricket administrator Mohsin Naqvi even caught up with a few Pakistani domestic stars on Sunday, March 2. As reported by the geosuper.tv, Naqvi issued directives to the youngsters regarding player’s fitness, skills and diet plans during training.
The Pakistan cricket team is set to tour New Zealand for a five-match T20I series, and for three additional ODI matches. The tour will commence on March 16 with a T20I opener at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
Yet to unveil Pakistan’s squad for the three-week long upcoming tour of New Zealand, the PCB will likely rest several senior players from the team in a bid to prepare for ICC’s next big-ticket event, the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka next year.
