Virat Kohli Witnesses Surge In ODI Rankings; Rohit Sharma Suffers A Dip

The latest ICC ODI rankings are out and India's number 3, Virat Kohli witnessed a surge in his rankings as he climbs a place to number 4 spot after stellar performances Vs Pakistan and Australia in the ongoing Champions Trophy tournament. He was at the fifth spot prior to the event, but was rewarded for his stellar show.

Kohli started out with a low score against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy opener, but came to life with a majestic century against his favourite opponent, Pakistan. It was followed by another low score against the Kiwis, but the experienced batter was back amongst the runs against the Aussies in the semi-finals.

As a result, he soars a place to number 4 with 747 points and with a game still to be played, he has a chance to climb even higher.

Rohit witnesses dip in rankings

At the start of the tournament, Rohit occupied the number 3 spot, but he failed to capitalised on it. String of low scores meant that the India great slipped 2 places to number 5 with a rating point of 745.

He got starts in almost all the matches, but couldn't score a big one as his ranking suffered big time.

Gill maintains number 1 spot, Klaasen moves upto 3

Shubman Gill maintained his top spot as the India star has played two outstanding knocks in the tournament.

However, he is getting tough competition from Heinrich Klaasen who jumped a place to number 3 and eyes Gill's top spot.
