After the end of a historic Test series, the action moves to white-ball cricket as India and South Africa are set to collide for the first ODI of the three-match series in Ranchi on Sunday, November 30.

KL Rahul will be leading the Indian team in the absence of Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, who are both sidelined from the series due to the neck and spleen injuries respectively, while the seniors in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have also re-joined the squad.

BCCI provides fun BTS action from team photoshoot

On the morning of November 29, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to their Twitter (X) and posted a video of the Indian stars having fun at the pre-series headshots in Ranchi.

The video starts with Kohli walking in, followed by Yashasvi Jaiswal before Arshdeep Singh makes a fun comment,

"Welcome back to Indian Cricket Channel Team page,"  and laughs as others, including Nitish Kumar Reddy, Tilak Varma and Ravindra Jadeja arrive to the shoot.

It then proceeds to show captain KL Rahul and a lean and fit looking Rohit Sharma posing for their shoots for the series. Following the shots of Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana and Tilak Varma, the latest Indian Test captain Rishabh Pant comically reveals of having just woken up, so he can't focus on smiling for the photos, "Bhaiya so kar uthke aaya hu," he tells the cameraman.

This is the first time since August 2024 that Pant will be back in the ODI side as an option to bat at number 4 in Iyer's absence.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who last played an ODI in December 2023 is also returning to the side on the back of his good List A and First Class form, also expressed his excitement to be back in the side, "Good to be back in Blue and really looking forward to again playing for team India,"  he revealed.

The ODI series will begin in Ranchi on November 30, followed by Raipur on December 3 before it moves to the Southern city of Vishakhapatanam for the final fixture on December 6.
