Virat Kohli, after starring in India’s Test series win against West Indies, has not been featured in team’s composition for the five-match T20I series. The cricketer’s workload was further reduced in the ODIs, as he was benched from the final two matches and did not face a ball in the series-opener in Bridgetown.
As team management continues to groom youngsters through the remaining West Indies fixtures and the ensuing T20Is in Ireland, the former Indian captain will now enjoy at least a couple of weeks’ worth of rest before the team reassembles for the all-important ODI Asia Cup later this month.
While Kohli was about to make his return to India, he received a special flight arrangement via a renowned aircraft charter provider.
Virat Kohli returns home through special flight
Prior to the T20I series opener between India and hosts West Indies, Virat Kohli took flight back to his country to take a much-needed break from his hectic schedule. Notably, the globally recognized star received a special flight arrangement from Air Charter Service, and the cricketer even shared pictures of the private jet on his social media accounts.
In the meantime, Kohli will have his task cut out when he returns to the cricketing fold. The Indian team is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka later this month for the much-awaited ODI Asia Cup 2023.
Notably, the continental event itself serves as a testing ground for the team for the ensuing ODI World Cup at home.
