MI Cape Town Retained and Pre-Signed Players' Full List For SA20 2024

The MI Cape Town franchise have issued a list of player retentions ahead of the upcoming SA20 2024 auction. The team, under Rashid Khan's leadership, failed to qualify for the playoffs in the inaugural SA20 season played out earlier this year in South Africa.

Despite finishing last on the points table, several MI Cape Town players have been retained by the franchise, including skipper Khan himself.

MI Cape Town retain Livingstone, Curran among others

MI Cape Town have retained a majority of their South African core players, including Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton. Notably, Dussen won the ‘Division 1 One-Day Cup Player of the Season award while Rickelton picked up the ‘Domestic Players’ Player of the Season award at the recently-concluded 2023 CSA event.

Grant Roelofsen, Delano Potgieter, George Linde, Duan Jansen and Beuran Hendricks are among other South African cricketers set to turn up for the MI Cape Town franchise for the next season.

Among overseas stars, the franchise has retained team skipper Rashid Khan, and several English internationals like Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer, Olly Stone and Tom Banton. South African veteran Kagiso Rabada and young Dewald Brevis also managed to make a cut into the pre-signing group ahead of the auction. 

Ziyaad Abrahams, Wesley Marshall, Odean Smith, Tim David, Henry Brooks and Waqar Salamkheil were among the players to be released from the franchise.
