Will Virat Kohli Retire From Cricket?
With questions being raised over his current form, many have begun to wonder whether Virat Kohli can justify his place in India’s Test team moving forward.
However, despite his struggles, Kohli is reportedly not considering retirement just yet. According to a PTI report, the player is 'in no mood to retire' and remains focused on his long-term goals, that also include the ODI World Cup in 2027 .
However, according to reports, the former national selectors have raised doubts about his inclusion for India’s upcoming tour of England in June 2025.
“Would be very hard for selectors to pick either Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli on the basis of IPL performance or form. There has to be some red-ball cricket for them in the lead-up to the England tour," a former selector told PTI.
While Kohli’s place in India’s ODI setup appears secure for now, his Test career hangs in the balance as selectors face tough choices ahead. It would not be wrong to say and conclude that the coming months will be crucial for the star player, as he will need to rediscover his form and prove that he still has what it takes to excel at the longest format of the game.
