Team India trounced hosts South Africa by seven wickets at Cape Town to level their two-match series in the second Test. The match also marked the final international outing for South African Test zealot and stand-in captain Dean Elgar.

While the cricketer returned with below-par scores of four and 12 and a humiliating Test loss to the visiting Indians, Virat Kohli ensured that the outbound Proteas legend had a game to remember. After the match, the seasoned Indian batsman handed Elgar his signed jersey as a gesture of appreciation, personally congratulating the South African for his illustrious career.

As it turned out, Kohli also gifted South African spinner Keshav Maharaj his signed jersey with a sporting caption after the conclusion of the proceedings.

Keshav Maharaj took to his Instagram account, where he shared a picture of himself alongside Virat Kohli at the Newlands Cricket Ground. The South African spinner acknowledged the signed jersey he received from Kohli and thanked the Indian cricketer for his sporting gesture. In the caption, Maharaj wrote:

“One for the Wall, Thank you @virat.kohli 🫡 🙏”

Recapping the series-deciding second Test match at Cape Town, Team Indian enveloped South Africa for just 55 inside the opening session of Day 1 and secured a handy 98-run lead before losing their final six wickets without adding a run.

South Africa scored 176 off the back of Aiden Markram's sublime century in their second innings to set up a 79-tun target for the visitors. Rohit Sharma and co. overhauled their task in just 12 overs to finish the match inside five sessions, thus making it the shortest Test in history.
