Virat Kohli was among the many senior members of the side to be rested from India’s August T20I tour of Ireland as part of their workload management. Following their much-needed break, the cricketers have regrouped to gear up for the impending Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka.

Setting base in Alur, Kohli alongside others have already completed their first practise session. The legendary batter took to his Instagram account and shared the update with his fans and followers.

Team India, under Rohit Sharma, will launch their Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a match against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2. The much-awaited fixture is slated to be played at Kandy’s Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The ‘Men in Blue’ will then close out their Group A run with a game against Nepal a couple of days later at the same venue.

The tournament holds much significance for all competing sides, as it marks some of their final set of fixtures before the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India later this year.
