The 6th game of the IPL 2023 marked CSK's greatly anticipated return to Chepauk after a gap of 1426 days. A dog running on the ground brought a bit of delay in start of proceedings creating more excitement in the jam-packed crowd assembled at Chepauk.

The game finally started and Ruturaj Gaikwad made sure that CSK's return to Chepauk turned memorable as he continued his great form smashing fifty off just 25 balls. Conway too found his groove and CSK hammered their highest Powerplay score ever in Chepauk. The duo put together a 110-run stand as CSK raced past the 100-run mark at the end of just 8 overs.

However, once Gaikwad departed at the score of 57 off just 31 balls, Conway too departed on 47 and the scoring rate started dipping. Ravi Bishnoi was the man who showed great composure and skills amidst the carnage and got three big wickets of Gaikwad, Dube and Moeen Ali to put a lid on scoring rate.

Mark Wood the star of the first game for LSG also got into the act with 3 wickets as CSK's middle order failed to capitalise on a blistering start by their openers. Avesh Khan also got his 50th IPL wicket when he got a big wicket of Stokes in the 17th over.

However, the biggest moment of the innings came when MS Dhoni walked on the field in the last over and he immediately got into the act with two blistering sixes in the final over as the crowd went completely wild. In the process, he also became the 5th Indian to score over 5000 runs in the IPL.

CSK ended with 217 on the board and LSG will need their powerful top-order to click if they want to spoil CSK's party here at Chepauk.
