Gujarat Titans are the defending champions and they started the 2023 IPL season with a bang. They registered an impressive win by by 5 wickets in the opening game against CSK and would be looking to carry that momentum forward against DC in their second game.

Let us now see the predicted XI and Impact Players for GT against DC in game number 7 of this 16th edition of the IPL.

Openers

Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha

Gujarat Titans got off to a flier in the first game and it was courtesy some quality batting by Saha and Gill. Both of them provided great starts for GT at the backend of the last season as well and we can expect both of them to come out all guns blazing against DC as well. Gill went onto score a fantastic 63 off 36 balls and the man just continues to rise in stature in world cricket.

Middle Order

Sai Sudharsan

The stylish left-handed batter was used as an impact player in the last game and batted at number 3 because of an injury to Williamson. Now, with Williamson gone we can expect him to be in the playing XI and take that important number 3 position. He has scored lots of runs for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket in the last year or so and played some quality knocks at number 3 for GT in the last season as well.

Hardik Pandya

The Gujarat skipper is a big player for his team both with the bat and ball. He has the ability to mould his game according to the game situation and would play a critical role at number 4 for GT just like he did in the last season. He was pretty disappointed to not finish off the last game and we can expect him to take more responsibility in this game.

David Miller

Miller was one of the pillars of GT batting line-up in the 2022 season. He played some fantastic knocks under pressure and since then has been in the form of his life. His inclusion in the team after missing the first game will be a big boost for the Gujarat unit.

Rahul Tewatia

The left-handed batter has the knack of finishing off tense chases with some last over heroics. In the first game as well he finished off the chase with Rashid Khan with great swag and once again would play that designated finisher role.

Bowlers

Rashid Khan

The Afghan skipper is not just a premier bowler for his side but a great finisher as well. He showed his all-round skills in the first game as well with two wickets and played a match-winning cameo of 10 runs off just 3 balls to take his side to a victory. He will be a key player for GT against DC and we can expect him to make a big impact.

Mohammed Shami

Shami is a world-class bowler and he has proved it across the format over the course of last decade now. He has been pretty successful for GT too and has been their go-to bowler in the Powerplay. GT would expect him to make that new ball talk again.

Joshua Little

Joshua Little was a bit expensive in his debut game but showed his skills at the death. He is a quality bowler with good pace and GT would hope that he produces a match-winning effort for them.

Shivam Mavi

Shivam Mavi is another bowler who is rated very highly in Indian cricket. He has recently played for India as well and was pretty impressive. He has the pace and ability to swing the new ball and we can see him playing in place of Yash Dayal in the game against DC.

Alzarri Jospeh

Alzarri Joseph has been in red-hot form and took a five-wicket haul against the Proteas recently in a T20I series. He was pretty impressive in the last season too and in the first game picked two crucial wickets at the death. He is an x-factor in the bowling line-up and expect him to make an impact again.
