5. 222 by Mumbai vs Vidarbha, Alur (2024)

Number five on the list is Mumbai’s commanding chase of Vidarbha’s daunting 222 in the SMAT 2024 quarterfinal at Alur. Captain Ajinkya Rahane’s classy 84 off 45 and Prithvi Shaw’s rapid 49 off 26 laid the perfect platform, before Suryansh Shegde’s blistering unbeaten 12-ball 36 finished the job with four balls to spare.

5. 222 by Baroda vs Tamil Nadu, Indore (2024)

Baroda’s chase of 222 against Tamil Nadu in the 2024 SMAT group stage ranks joint fifth in the list, powered by a breathtaking Hardik Pandya blitz in Indore. Walking in at No. 6 with over a hundred required off 44 balls, Pandya smashed a stunning 69 off 30, lighting up the Holkar Stadium. His assault converted a steady top-order start into one of the tournament’s greatest successful chases.

4. 223 by Baroda vs Punjab, Hyderabad (2025)

Number four in the list is Baroda’s 223-run chase against Punjab in the 2025 SMAT group stage featuring another Hardik Pandya six-hitting exhibition in Hyderabad. Punjab’s innings was headlined by Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 50 off 19, but Pandya outshone everyone with an unbeaten 77 off 42 balls. His clean hitting propelled Baroda to overcome the target, securing the fourth-highest successful chase in tournament history.

3. 227 by Puducherry vs Andhra, Mumbai (2021)

Puducherry pulled off a record chase in SMAT 2021, overcoming Andhra’s 227-run target in a group stage clash at Wankhede. Despite losing two early wickets in the powerplay, Sheldon Jackson’s brilliant unbeaten century, complemented by Paras Dogra’s quickfire 51 off 18 balls, steered Puducherry to a historic victory with four balls remaining in hand.

2. 230 by Mumbai vs Andhra, Hyderabad (2024)

Mumbai recorded the highest successful run chase in SMAT history back in 2024, surpassing Puducherry’s 2021 record. Captain Ajinkya Rahane led with a breathtaking 95 off 54 balls, while Suryansh Shegde stole the spotlight at the end with an unbeaten 30 off 8 balls, steering Mumbai to a thrilling 230-run chase with three balls to spare in Hyderabad.

1. 236 by Jharkhand vs Punjab, Pune (2025)

The latest and highest successful chase in SMAT history came in 2025, when Jharkhand overhauled Punjab’s towering 236-run target at the DY Patil Academy in Pune. Salil Arora’s 39-ball century powered Punjab, but their bowlers could not defend it. Ishan Kishan’s brisk 47 off 23 set the tone, before Kumar Kushagra’s outstanding unbeaten 86 off 42 took charge. Late hitting from Anukul Roy and Pankaj Kumar sealed the chase with 11 balls to spare on a breathtaking evening in Pune.
