The Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to start from 19th of February and all teams have revealed their squad except the hosts, Pakistan. There have been numerous reports regarding the composition of the squad, but the PCB has still not revealed the official 15, giving more air to rumours floating around.

Now, Qadir Khawaja, the Sports Journalist of Samaa TV has revealed that Usman Khan and Aamir Jamal have been added to the Pakistan's squad and the duo of Sufiyan Muqeem and Irfan Niazi will be out of the team. If the report is true, it would be a big surprise as Sufiyan Muqeem has done well recently and in the one ODI he has played, he picked four wickets against South Africa.

Usman Khan To Be Included To Strengthen Batting In Absence Of Saim Ayub?

Usman Khan, on the other hand, has not made his ODI debut, but has a List A average of 75.66. Aamir Jamal who is touted to make his comeback is a seam-bowling all-rounder and has played across formats for Pakistan. The player who he might replace is Irfan Niazi who has not done well in eight ODIs he has played so far. So, it would be interesting to see how Pakistan selectors go about their business, but leaving out Sufiyan Muqeem can hurt them on flat decks in Pakistan.

There is also suspense around the participation of Saim Ayub after his injury in South Africa and the Champions Trophy squad might see the comeback of Fakhar Zaman. There are reports that Pakistan might open with Babar Azam in the competition and if Usman Khan is included in the squad, he could be their potential number 3.
