The Champions Trophy 2025 squad is just around the corner and while all the other teams have announced their team, Pakistan remain the only side yet to reveal their squad for the mega event, set to take place in Pakistan and Dubai. Speculations have come up on when the team will be announced with little time left, but now it seems the dates have been revealed.
As per Geo News, PCB will announce the Champions Trophy squad after the conclusion of the second Test between Pakistan and West Indies. The Test match is currently underway at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
As per reports, the squad has been finalised and has been given the green light by PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, and the management is waiting for the Test match to get over.
Who will be in the squad?
Expect all the big names to be included in the Champions Trophy squad. The likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf will be there in the team as the core members alongside captain Mohammad Rizwan.
Pakistan's fate in the tournament will be on the senior players who are playing together for a long time.
Surprise inclusions?
With Saim Ayub likely to be ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to an ankle injury, expect Fakhar Zaman to be back as the first choice opener. Imam-ul-Haq is also in contention, however, out of form opener, Abdullah Shafique is likely to face the axe.
The team is also pondering on the inclusion of Khushdil Shah as a power-packed finisher in the squad.
