In a nail-biting contest, RCB defended a target of 213 total against CSK’s fierce chase of 211/5, powered by 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre’s explosive 94 off 48 balls. Despite Mhatre’s heroics and Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten 77, CSK fell agonisingly short.

However, despite being a nervy thriller, a post-match brawl between the fans outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium stole the spotlight. While CSK and RCB are arch-rivals, the fan fight implicates the raw emotions that define the legacy of these two teams in the league.

Fan Fight Erupts In Chinnaswamy

A heated altercation between a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan and two Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) supporters outside Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 3 went viral.

The incident, captured on video, showed police intervening as tempers flared post-match, though the exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, the Dhoni vs Kohli clash appears to be more likely the reason behind the tease and the retort. The account that posted the video captioned, "A CSK fan showed his attitude after the match and RCB fans treated him with care."

The Match That Went Down To The Wire

Speaking of the match, Virat Kohli, Jacob Bethell, and Romario Shepherd orchestrated RCB’s mammoth total. Shepherd’s 14-ball fifty, featuring 4 fours and 6 sixes obliterated Chennai.

Ayush Mhatre’s 94 and his 114-run partnership with Jadeja nearly snatched victory, but RCB’s bowlers, especially Yash Dayal, held firm in the death overs, denying MS Dhoni and Jadeja, their victory.

Meanwhile, RCB’s win tightens their grip on the playoffs, while CSK faces shame ahead of their remaining fixtures. Bengaluru gears up for their May 9 clash against LSG at Ekana, where another electrifying crowd response is anticipated.
