Early on Day 2 of the SCG Test match, Jasprit Bumrah, the pace spearhead of the Indian attack gave a mini-heart attack to the fans as he walked off the field and suffered from back spasm as the entire nation sweated hard on his fitness.

There were doubts that Bumrah might actually not take further part in the SCG Test and could be ruled out of the match. However, there is an update on his injury issues. As per Sahil Malhotra of TOI, Bumrah will definitely bat on Day 3 of the SCG Test match to save India's collapse, but the decision on his bowling will be taken upon checking how he feels on the morning.

Immediately after he went off the field, Bumrah was taken to the hospital for further scans and as per the reports, the pacer has suffered from back spasm, and could potentially miss the remainder of the Tests.

He has bowled nearly 150 overs in the series and has picked up 31 wickets, at 12.64. This is almost equivalent to bowling in 3 IPL seasons as the over-reliance on Bumrah has led to this injury.

How will India cope up in his absence?

If Bumrah misses out on the remainder of the Tests, then the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and others have to step in to fill up the void.

However, without Bumrah, the Indian attack has lacked the cutting-edge and the Australian side will be relieved if he doesn't come out to bowl tomorrow.

Match hangs in balance

India are 141/6 at the end of Day 2 of the SCG Test. They still lead by 145 runs, but their last recognised batting pair of Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar are at the crease.

India will hope the duo can help the team cross the 200-run lead as anything above it will psychologically boost India's chances as the wicket is also helping the bowlers.
