In a significant development, Trinbago Knight Riders have roped in legendary West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo as their new head coach ahead of the upcoming Caribbean Premier League season. The talismanic cricketer replaces Phil Simmons, who currently serves as the head coach of the Bangladesh men's cricket team.

The development was confirmed this morning as Dwayne Bravo expressed his gratitude to the Knight Riders' franchise for appointing him as the head coach. 

"It's an honor to be given the opportunity to be Head Coach of TKR, a team that's very close to my heart. I would like to personally thank Coach Phil Simmons for his time and commitment over the last few years, and now I look forward to this new challenge for me and my staff," Bravo was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo. 

Dwayne Bravo's Coaching Career At A Glance

Bravo, who retired from the Indian Premier League after the 2022 season, began his coaching stint with Chennai Super Kings, serving as their bowling consultant. He went on to join Kolkata Knight Riders as their mentor for the IPL 2025 after assuming the head coach position for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders ahead of last year's ILT20. 

He also served as the bowling consultant of the Afghanistan side that made a historic entry into the semifinal in last year's T20 World Cup edition. Although South Africa knocked out the Afghans, Bravo received massive applause for their impressive bowling performances. 

Hailed as a legendary figure in T20 cricket, Dwayne Bravo had a stellar CPL career as well. In 107 matches, the medium pacer bagged 129 wickets, the highest by any bowler in the tournament to date. He is closely followed by Sunil Narine, who might overtake him on the list of most successful CPL bowlers this year.
