The first Test between India and England could witness Karun Nair's much-awaited return to Test cricket. The BCCI, through a recently released video, hinted at the veteran batter's Test comeback following his exploits in the domestic circuit as well as the unofficial games leading up to the high-voltage England tour.

Fans Anticipate Nair's Test Comeback As BCCI's Post Goes Viral

Under Shubman Gill's leadership, India are ready to take on England in the first of the five-match series at Headingley in Leeds. Ahead of what's supposed to be an intriguing affair, the BCCI posted a video of Karun Nair, highlighting the batter's determination to return to the Test fold.

In the clip, Nair has opened up on his insatiable appetite to play Tests for India and contribute to the team's cause.

"My first thought when I woke up was I want to play Test cricket, I want to play for India again. That's probably what kept me going and kept me hungry, the driving force to go to training every day to go to practice every day. Never losing that belief and having that target to reach was something that helped me. Feeling honoured to wear this jersey and honoured to represent my country," the batter said in the video released by the BCCI.
"When I saw everyone for the first time, that's where I really felt it, that I am finally in the team. Till then, it was like a wait for me to kind of start feeling that I had made it again," he added.

This social media act by the BCCI made a section of fans anticipate Nair's much-deserved return in whites. Here are some of those reactions.

"So Karun Nair playing today".

"It means he is going to play at #3. He really deserves a chance."

"Best of luck buddy!! Just don't waste your chance and play responsibly. 🏏"

"And here we are ready to support him!"

Karun Nair played his last Test against Australia in Dharamsala way back in 2017. If he makes a comeback and makes an instant impact, it will go down as one of the most inspirational tales in the years to come.
