Travis Head Eyes Virat Kohli's Record For Most Runs In ICC Finals During WTC Clash vs Proteas

On Wednesday, June 11, Australia will lock horns against South Africa in the much-awaited WTC final. Both teams played exceptional Test cricket in the past two years and will now square off to get their hands on the biggest red-ball trophy. 

Australia are looking to script history by becoming the first team to win the WTC title twice. Meanwhile, personal milestones are also up for grabs. Baggy Green's star batter Travis Head is looking to break Virat Kohli's record for most runs in ICC finals.

Notably, Head, who will be playing his third ICC final, has scored 318 runs in three innings and is just 94 runs away from going past Kohli, who has 411 runs for India in nine ICC finals.

Travis Head's Record In ICC Finals

Breaking down Head's runs, then the southpaw scored a century against India in the WTC 2023 final and also a hundred against the Men in Blue in the 2023 World Cup final at Narendra Modi Stadium. 

Head has breathtaking figures in ICC finals as the 31-year-old averages above 100. His figures include 163, 18, and 137. Interestingly, he has played all the ICC finals against India. 

Virat Kohli's Record In ICC Finals

Talking about Virat, the former India captain doesn't enjoy great success in the final as he now fears Head going ahead of him during the upcoming WTC final.

Kohli has played two WTC Finals, two ODI World Cup finals, three Champions Trophy finals and two T20 World Cup finals for India. He has scored just 318 runs, which includes three fifties, but no century. 

At present, Head is fourth on the list behind Kumar Sangakkara, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. Here is the complete list of players with the most runs in the ICC finals.
