Rishabh Pant, the wicket-keeper batter, took a moment to reflect on his 2023 experiences in a social media post response on platform X. He revealed that he has gone through a tough time but has learnt a lesson from it.

The dynamic cricketer faced a year of mental and physical challenges, sidelined due to multiple injuries sustained in a car accident on the eve of 2023. After surgery and hospital treatment, he was advised to continue recovery at home for an additional few months.

He is rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru under the supervision of the BCCI medical team. He missed the WTC 2023 final, the ODI World Cup 2023, and the Indian Premier League 2023.

Reflecting on 2023 during his recovery, Pant summed it up succinctly in response to a post on X: "Tough & lot’s of learning."

Earlier in November, the former India captain and the director of cricket of Delhi Capitals, Sourav Ganguly, said that Rishabh Pant would be back in time for the IPL 2024 season and would be back to captaining the side.

However, as per latest reports, the swashbuckling southpaw might bat as an impact player without donning the keeping gloves in the upcoming IPL season.
