Time For Kuldeep Yadav? Rahul Dravid Hints At Change Of Strategy For Super 8 Matches

After completing the group round games in the USA, the Indian team is set to play their first Super Eight game against Afghanistan tomorrow at Kensington Oval Barbados, West Indies.

Indian bowlers, particularly the pacer, have been the difference makers during the group stage. On pitches that favour pacers, Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya shone brilliantly.

Mohammed Siraj also played all the group games, and captain Rohit Sharma even tried Shivam Dube as well.

However, with the game shifting to the West Indies, where wickets also support spinners, the team might see some changes.

Time for Kuldeep, Chahal in playing XI?

So far, Jadeja and Axar Patel have been the starting spinners for India, chosen for their dual ability to both bowl and bat, which provided a strategic advantage over Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

According to Rahul Dravid's latest comments quoted by PTI, there is a chance that either Kuldeep Yadav or Yuzvendra Chahal could be included in the playing XI against Afghanistan.

"It's tough to leave anyone out. New York had pace bowlers conditions... slightly different. We might need something different here (in Barbados). Yuzi (Chahal) or Kuldeep (Yadav) could be used here," said Dravid as per PTI.

If either Kuldeep Yadav or Yuzvendra Chahal (the KulCha duo) plays Vs Afghanistan, it's likely that Mohammed Siraj will sit out for the spinner.

When the Indian squad  for the T20 World Cup was announced, many questioned why there were four spinners included. The reason for this selection is the slow nature of the West Indies wickets.

Indian coach Rahul Dravid could play a third spinner tomorrow to counter Afghanistan and secure a strong start in the Super Eight round.
