The ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India is a gruelling tournament that sees all participating teams visit several venues.

However, the toughest schedule is reserved for Team India, who travel to as many as nine venues, as compared to others, who play multiple matches in one city before moving on. Reports indicate Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah Hardik Pandya and other Team India might be permitted to take leave for a few days after their clash against New Zealand in Dharamsala on Sunday.

India have a gap of seven days between the Kiwi encounter, and their clash against defending champions England (Oct 29). As quoted by Inside Sport, an unnamed BCCI official stated that Indian players will be given an option to leave for home or stay on.

Here's what BCCI source said

“The players are likely to have an option of dispersing to their respecting homes for a two or three-day break after the New Zealand game. With a seven-day gap between the two matches, it is only fair that players get some time with their families.”

The players will be expected to regroup with Team India by October 29 in Lucknow ahead of their England match.

With four wins out of four, Sharma and Co. occupy the second position in the WC points table, behind leaders New Zealand, which makes the upcoming Dharamsala match even more exciting.
