However, while they re-established themselves as a T20I powerhouse, India's downfall in Tests was nothing short of a sorry tale, with a humiliating home whitewash and an underwhelming Border-Gavaskar Trophy run jeopardising their chances for a third consecutive entry into the World Test Championship final.
