Australia jumped the roped with a thrilling win against Ireland. The Aussies displayed a brilliant team effort as the team came together to clinch the victory. Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins took a 2 wicket-haul each while captain Aaron Finch scored a brilliant 63 off 44 balls.

Albeit, danger looms the squad as the high-profile trio consisting of Tim David, Marcus Stoinis and Aaron Finch complained of pain during the match.

The skipper complained of having hamstring pain in the post-match conference.

“I’ve had a bit of a hammy twinge, I don’t feel too bad at the moment but generally overnight it can stiffen up a bit. I will have a scan (on Tuesday).”

Glorious hitter Tim David did not field in the game due to the similar issue. While Marcus Stoinis, who has a history of side injuries went off the field after bowling just one over.

Australia's run in the tournament

After the win against the Irish, Australia have moved up in the points table and improved their net run rate in the process. Australia is set to face Afghanistan in their final match in the Super 12 stage.

Meanwhile, Ireland's hopes of qualifying in the semis have now been crushed.
