T20 World Cup 2022: Bhuvneshwar Kumar updates on Dinesh Karthik injury

Dinesh Karthik had exited the field for the last 5 overs of the match in the game against South Africa. Rishabh Pant had come in as the wicket-keeper in the final 5 overs of the second innings. 

The Indian team management is still waiting for an update from the physiotherapist regarding DK's injury. Bhuvneshwar Kumar shined some light on the context explaining that the keeper was having some issues with his back. 


Bhuvneshwar clears the air 


"He had some issues with his back and I didn’t meet him after the match. I'll talk to him once we go back to the hotel and wait for the physio's report."


After coming off of a phenomenal IPL season, all eyes were on the wicket-keeping batter. Throughout the franchise tournament DK proved himself to be the 'finisher' that India needed. Although he has been unable to churn out any worthwhile runs so far in the T20 World Cup 2022. 

In the last match agains South Africa, DK had an opportunity to score, India were 42 for 4 in the 8th over. He eventually lost his wicket to Wayne Parnell while also struggling to score runs. He also made a few wicket-keeping errors against the Netherlands.
