Zimbabwe cricketer Ryan Burl has joined Sylhet Strikers for the upcoming BPL 2023 season. The cricketer previously represented the Chattogram Challengers in the 2019 and 2020 editions of the tournament.

Sylhet Strikers took to Twitter and announced the inclusion of Ryan Burl into their squad for the upcoming BPL 2023 season. A few days ago, the franchise also roped in Netherlands’ all-rounder Colin Ackermann into the side.

Burl is currently in Australia for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. The dynamic cricketer scored crucial runs in the death overs in Zimbabwe’s narrow win over Pakistan.

The 28-year-old has played 81 T20 matches across his career, including 53 internationals for Zimbabwe. He has scored 1,331 runs with the bat, at an average of 27.72, with five half-centuries to his name. Burl has also collected 42 wickets in the format with his leg-spin.

Apart from Burl and Ackermann, the Strikers have also signed Sri Lankan cricketers Kamindu Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva and Thisara Perera among their overseas stars. Former Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir was also added to the expanded squad earlier in October.
