India's star batter Suryakumar Yadav, on Thursday (September 22) dropped an update on Jasprit Bumrah's fitness, stating that the senior pacer has completed his recovery and is ready to take the field in the second T20I against Australia, set to be played on Friday in Nagpur.
Interacting with the media in the pre-match conference on the eve of the second T20I against Australia, Suryakumar Yadav shed light on Bumrah's availability in the Nagpur encounter confirming:
"Bumrah is fit and ready to play in the second match."
The ace pacer was recently added to India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 and the ongoing series against Australia and the upcoming one against South Africa. The pace spearhead was ruled out of the entire Asia Cup 2022 due to a back injury.
As for the series opener, Bumrah didn’t feature in the match as the team management did not want to push him immediately into the action especially considering the fact that he is making a comeback after an injury lay-off.
However, the hosts truly missed the speedster in Mohali on Tuesday (September 20) as they failed to defend 208 runs and went on to concede a 1-0 lead to Australia in the three-match T20I series.
