India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan are set to bring their prowess to the Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament, representing the Mumbai team.

The tournament is poised to kick off on August 15, with the Mumbai squad led by the formidable Sarfaraz Khan.

A source from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) confirmed Suryakumar's participation, emphasizing his consistent commitment to Mumbai cricket.

"He has informed us that he is available to play in the Buchi Babu tournament, and his name will be added to the Mumbai side. Surya has always turned up for Mumbai cricket whenever he is available. In fact, he is one of the few players who turn up for club matches in Mumbai maidaans," the source noted.

Adding to the excitement, Ishan Kishan is also set to join the tournament, as per reports from Express Sports. 

The Mumbai selection committee, which had previously announced a 17-member squad, confirmed that Yadav will feature in the Mumbai vs. Jammu & Kashmir game scheduled in Salem on September 27. 

Despite his stature, Yadav has opted not to lead the team, endorsing Sarfaraz Khan to continue as captain. 

"We had asked Surya, and he suggested that Sarfaraz should continue to lead, and that he will play merely as a player," the source added.

In preparation for the tournament, the Mumbai team recently underwent a two-week intensive camp at Alur, near Bangalore, where they engaged in several practice matches to fine-tune their skills.
