The mystery spinner from the West Indies, Sunil Narine, has announced his retirement from international cricket. Even though the last time he represented the Caribbean national team was four years ago, now, on Sunday, 05 November, he has finally decided to bid adieu to international cricket.

Narine, who is a T20 specialist, plays in T20 leagues all around the world. He is a part of the Indian Premier League's Kolkata Knight Riders and has been a part of their franchise since 2012. He plays for the Knight Riders in other T20 leagues as well.

Having made his debut for West Indies against India at Ahmedabad in 2011, he has been one of a kind for the Caribbeans. In 65 ODIs, 51 T20Is and 6 Tests, the Windies spinner has taken a total of 165 wickets. He was also a part of the 2012 T20 World Cup-winning West Indies team.

He shared a post on social media to announce his retirement from international cricket. He will continue to play in T20 leagues all over the world.

Sunil Narine shares retirement news on social media:

It has not been easy for some West Indies cricketers considering the disputes between the board and the players. Sunil Narine thanked the Cricket West Indies, the coaching staff and his teammates. He also wrote that this will be his last domest tournament and winning the Super50 Cup will be the perfect send off.

While West Indies are already struggling in international cricket, Sunil Narine, who was a force to the team has retired from international cricket. Even though he hasn't been playing for the national team since 2019, now the slightest hope of seeing him in the Caribbean colours has died today.
