The legendary England fast bowler, Stuart Broad has joined the South African cricket team as a bowling consultant ahead of the all-important WTC final against Australia. The Englishman's addition is likely to benefit South Africa given his experience of home conditions and great record against Australia.

Stuart Broad Set To Add More Knowledge Of English Conditions In South African Dressing Room

The appointment of Stuart Broad is just for one-game currently, as Cricket South Africa aims to use his experience in getting their bowlers match-ready for the big final. Interestingly, Stuart Broad is also on the commentary panel for the WTC final, and thus he is not likely to be with the team during the course of the game.

Broad's stint with South Africa is his first coaching role after his retirement from the game in 2023. The tall right-arm pacer took 604 wickets in Test cricket, while he has taken 398 of those wickets in England. Thus, the pacer knows a lot about how to exploit English conditions and his most wickets in Test cricket also came against Australia.

The man from Nottingham also has an excellent record at Lord's with 113 wickets in 28 matches. Thus, the South African pacers like Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen are likely to get a better understanding of the dynamics of the ground from Broad.

South Africa are playing their first World Test Championship Final while Australia are looking to make it two in two. This is also the first time that the WTC final is being played at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground and will start on June 11. This is the third final of the WTC history and New Zealand won it the first time in 2021 followed by the Aussies in 2023.
