In a significant development, explosive batter Harry Brook has been appointed as the Northern Superchargers captain for The Hundred 2024. 

Despite having legendary allrounder Ben Stokes in their squad, the Superchargers have shown trust in Brook's leadership attributes, naming him the skipper for the upcoming tournament season.

'Really excited for it' - Brook on captaining in The Hundred

In his reaction, Brook expressed his excitement at being named the skipper of Northern Superchargers for The Hundred 2024. 

"It's an honour to captain Northern Superchargers, and I'm really excited for it. It's always special to play at Headingley and to represent the area, and to do that as captain in the Hundred this year will be extra special," Brook was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo. 

Brook was the most successful batter for the Superchargers in The Hundred last season, amassing 238 runs in seven innings at a magnificent average of 47.60 and a blistering strike rate of 196.69. 

Led by Brook, the Superchargers have a formidable squad comprising Ben Stokes and Nicholas Pooran alongside the lethal English bowling duo of Reece Topley and Adil Rashid. 

They had a forgettable last season, finishing last in the eight-team standings, and would like to bounce back this year.
