The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) went through a change of guard, with Roger Binny assuming the presidentship of the country's apex cricketing body.

From the affairs of domestic cricket to rising injury concerns in the Indian camp, Binny touched up on everything that could be expected in his regime.

Addressing the media in Bengaluru on Thursday, the 1983 World Cup winner started with his view on domestic cricket, highlighting why there is no need to introduce central contracts for domestic players at present.

"I think domestic players, Ranji players are looked after pretty well. They're taken care of well, they have good facilities, they stay in good places. There's no need for that at the moment. What's needed is to lift the standard of the Ranji Trophy."

You can't have a Bumrah breaking down 10 days before a World Cup- Roger Binny

The other item on his agenda is the injury explosion that has added to India's suffering in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

"You can't have a Bumrah breaking down 10 days before a World Cup. We need to address why and how players are breaking down so easily, not just now but over the last four-five years. It's not that we don't have good trainers or coaches. Whether the load is too much, whether they're playing too many formats, something needs to be done. That is my priority."

Meanwhile, the Melbourne Cricket Ground has decked up to play the host to the upcoming India-Pakistan clash, scheduled on October 23.
