In a remarkable turn of events, Sam Curran has recorded the best bowling figures by an English bowler in T20 World Cup history. The left-arm seamer attained this milestone by bagging a spectacular five-for during England's ongoing Super 12 opener against Afghanistan

Curran started weaving his magic by removing the well-set Ibrahim Zadran in his second over. Then, he came in the death overs and got rid of Azmatullah Omarzai and Rashid Khan, leaving Afghanistan in disarray. If this was not enough, the youngster dismissed Usman Ghani and Fazalhaq Farooqi to bundle out Afghanistan for a paltry 112.

Curran recorded stunning figures of five for 10, becoming the first-ever Englishman to register a five-wicket haul in T20Is. In this process, he also set the record for the best bowling figures by an Englishman in T20 World Cup history.

Curran's mind-blowing spell, combined with impressive performances from Mark Wood and Ben Stokes, dismantled Afghanistan's batting lineup. As of writing, England are five for no loss in one over.
