The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in Pakistan next year but ACC president Jay Shah has recently revealed that India will not travel to the neighbouring country and the venue needs to be shifted to a neutral one.

Following the 91st Annual General Meeting, the decision was announced and the Pakistan Cricket Board were miffed with the remarks from Jay Shah.

PCB released an official statement seeking an urgent meeting with the ACC regarding the same and threatened to pull out of the ODI World Cup set to be held in India next year.

Meanwhile, newly appointed BCCI president Roger Binny has now shared his thoughts on the matter. The former Indian World Cup winner revealed that the decision is not up to BCCI and the Indian government will take the final call.

Speaking to the media, Binny was quoted saying:

"That is not BCCI's call. We need government's clearance to leave the country. Whether we leave the country or teams coming into the country, we need clearance.

"Once we get clearance from the government then we go with it. We can't make a decision on our own. We have to rely on the government. We have not approached them yet."
