Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has left his fans guessing with a cryptic social media post. Taking to his Instagram account on October 25, the cricketer teased his fans that he will soon be making a ‘big’ announcement.

Interestingly, the timing of Pandya’s enigmatic declaration also coincides with the impending date of the retention news of the IPL 2025 season. On October 31, each IPL franchise is expected to unveil a list of names of all their retained players.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya teases ‘big’ update

Hardik Pandya took to his Instagram story and claimed that he will soon be announcing something ‘big’ for his fans. The 31-year-old wrote:

“I’m going to announce something big soon. Will let y’all know in sometime.”

Hardik Pandya had a troublesome IPL 2024 campaign for the Mumbai Indians franchise earlier this year. Being appointed as captain to replace five-time winner and decade-long skipper Rohit Sharma in the process, Pandya drew much flak from spectators across nearly all venues during the tournament.

Moreover, the cricketer also underwent one of his worst IPL seasons with the bat, scoring just 216 runs at an abysmal average of 18. As captain, his Mumbai Indians team finished at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table as they secured just four wins from 14 matches.

With the impending news of IPL 2025 retention update on the horizon, many fans are interpreting Hardik Pandya’s latest social media post as an indicator for a potential shift to a different franchise. However, no official confirmation has been made either by Pandya or by the Mumbai Indians team management.

The dashing Indian all-rounder recently delivered a stellar ‘Player of the Series’ performance against Bangladesh. In three matches against Bangladesh, Hardik Pandya punched out 118 runs at a staggering strike rate of 222.64. His all-round excellence helped India clinch the three-match series by a 3-0 margin.
